Lot 1099 Iver Johnson Safety Automatic Hammer .32 S&W

#N23863 This is the second model of the Safety Automatic Hammer pistol produced between 1896 until 1908, it was dubbed a 'bicycle revolver' because of its small size. Two cross pins in the lower frame, and a switch to a new double post latch deviates this model from the first and third models. This break top revolver features a blued finish, a 2” ribbed barrel, fixed blade front sight, notched latch rear sight, five-round fluted cylinder, smooth curved trigger, external hammer with checkered spur, smooth grip straps, cylinder star ejector, transfer bar safety, and checkered black hard rubber "Owls Head" grips. The original blued finish retained is approximately 20% showing general thinning and patina. Metal displays spots of rust, and there is some deformation observed in some of the screw slots. The action works well, but is really tight. The cylinder lock-up is also tight. The bore is bright with strong rifling, and the cylinder chambers are also very good. The plastic grips are in excellent condition with normal handling wear.
Condition is NRA Good.
